My brother’s birthday

Kate decorating Darragh's cake

Every year we celebrate the day that a person was born.

I haven’t been around for a year yet (but I celebrate everyday). Darragh’s been around for fifteen! So we baked a cake and decorated it with clouds and words, ate a special breakfast and headed out for lunch at a hotel.

Juggling

Juggling (or eating)

This is me playing with those plastic balls that you get in play areas in shops and the like. Except I prefer to juggle with them.

I can only manage juggling two at the moment and even that’s proving a challenge as my hands are still small.

Mamma Mia!

My mamma mia!

This is the new song of the moment. Kate is learning it in school, so everyone’s been singing it around the house – even daddy, and that’s something to be heard!

He even remembers it from when it was on Top of the Pops, showing just how old he really is!

Roll over Beethoven!

Me in front of the fire

I love watching the flames dance in the fire. Or even a flickering candle will do! I’m not sure what it is, but there’s definitely a magnetic attraction – “like a moth to a flame”…

This was me, relaxing after a bath, lying in front of the fireplace, enjoying the warm glow of the coals.

Chit chat

Me with no hair

My first filmed conversation – mostly with myself… or was I auditioning for a gurning competition…?

A day trip

Seals on the sand

Today we decided to go on a day trip – an entirely spontaneous decision seeing as the weather forecast was decent enough!

It turned out the forecast wasn’t as accurate as we expected, but we had a lovely time driving over to Dunfanaghy and An Fál Carrach (Falcarragh).

A third of a year!

Kate and me

I am four months old today!

It seems like I’ve been here forever, but it was only 123 days ago that I was born.

A lot has happened in this time – to me and in he outside world. The new year has come and gone and it’s beginning to feel like spring is on the way, which is lovely.

Ten-pin bowling

Daddy and Kate bowling together

I don’t know what pins are and I can’t count to 10 yet, but I loved the place we went to at half-term!

The Brunswick Moviebowl is the loudest, brightest place I’ve ever been. Mum and dad were a bit worried I wouldn’t enjoy it, but it had so many flashing lights and moving lights, who couldn’t enjoy it!!

I, (am not a) robot

I, Robot

No, I’m definitely not a robot.

The word robot was coined by the Czech writer Karel Čapek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots), published in 1920! Nowadays, you can even buy a robot vacuum cleaner – my dad’s seen one in action… ironically just outside Prague!

Sleeping cat

This is my thoughtful look

Today was a lazy day. Well, many of my days are lazy enough, but today was especially so! Mum and dad were out in the polytunnel preparing the soil for growing more vegetables. I mean, I was there too! I was in my pram, taking it easy and enjoying the warmth of the sun.
