One of our young apple trees
Daddy has planted quite a few fruit trees over the last couple of years. Apples, plums, damsons and pears.
We put in a few more this winter, thanks to Andy at fruitandnut.ie and they’re growing away very well.
We chose varieties – like Beauty of Bath, D’Arcy Spice and Ardcairn Russet – that should be reasonably well suited to the cool, wet and windy climate here, but only time will tell how well they’ll do.
Hopefully other trees and a big native hedge will eventually provide some shelter from the wind anyway – not much we can do about the temperature!
